Our Process and Application

Why a Purebred?

So you know the behaviour, appearance and the size of the dog is predictable to the breed.

Further information.

Health

We genetic test our breeding dogs to reduce the likelihood of disease and the best outcome for our puppies for this beautiful breed.

Hip & Elbow Dysplasia, Eye Diseases.

All our girls have an annual eye examination from a Specialist Veterinary Ophthalmologist. Heart Disease is tested by a Specialist Veterinary Cardiologist, further DNA tests are also completed to rule out any heritable defects.

Confirmation Of Pregnancy

Once a mating has taken place, the mother has an ultrasound at around day 30 from date of mating and this will confirm a pregnancy, but cannot accurately determine number of puppies at this stage. The mothers nutrition changes at this point to a higher energy level with attention to their weekly weight gain.  Next is an x-ray to take place at around days 50-55 once ossification has occurred, which is bone formation of the puppies, the vet can advise on approximate number of puppies so we know what to expect and we start to prepare for the birth.

Puppy Placement
